The House of Hákon
Hákonarætt, the House of Hákon, is a religious fellowship dedicated to preserving, teaching, and carrying forward the Old Norse tradition. Through education, formation, resources, and fellowship, we support practitioners and the growth of enduring local religious communities.
Our Shared Tradition
We receive and live the Old Norse tradition with reverence for the Gods, remembrance of the ancestors, and respect for the landvættir.
Guided by the Eddas, sagas, and inherited practice, we carry the tradition forward with honor and frith.

Hákonarætt Institute of Eddic Studies (HIES) is the educational ministry of Hákonarætt Fellowship, dedicated to structured online study of the Old Norse religious and literary tradition.

Gothi Formation & Ordination
Hákonarætt Fellowship provides a path of religious formation, discernment, and preparation for qualified individuals called to serve as Gothar within the Hákonarætt tradition. Ordination is conferred by the Fellowship following applicable formation, examination, and approval.
